Edith juggles her time between commercial projects and
self-initiated projects. She takes interest in all cloth-related
matters, ancient and modern, east or west. A fashion designer
by profession, she combines her knowledge of the industry
with her own discovered interests to provide unique designs
and solutions for clients.
She currently runs CLOTH HAVEN, a gallery/shop space in
Hong Kong that showcases textiles and crafts. This space
enables her to play curator, introduce textiles to the public
in her own way and interact with more like¡Vminded people.
At the start of her career, Edith worked abroad in New
York and Europe. She returned to Hong Kong in the late 1980s
and started working in the film industry as a costume designer.
In 1990 Edith set up the COSTUME SQUAD, serving the entertainment
industry for a decade.
Her consultation projects include designing for women and
menswear fashion labels, home furnishings, uniforms, fur
garments, styling and publishing and translation. She also
teaches part-time, on fashion and costume design.
Edith is the Past President of the Textile Society of Hong
Kong, Vice President of Hong Kong Film Arts Association,
and volunteer consultant for SAORI Weaving project at the
Salvation Army Rehabilitation Programme.
