001 FREESTYLE SAORI WEAVING

The philosophy of Saori Weaving will be introduce, basic skills at the weaving loom will be taught. You create and bring home your unique piece.

Fees:$450 (4rhrs) Additional Hours @$80/hr
If you weave less than 2 hrs per visit $120/hr

002 WEAVING, STEP by STEP

WEEK 1 (2 hrs) Understand how the weaving loom work, weave with different yarns to achieve textures.
WEEK 2 (2hrs) Stripes, checks and plaids
WEEK 3 (2 hrs) Tapestry weave
WEEK 4 (2 hrs) Pile weaving, open weaves

Fees: $960 (total 8 hrs), Additional hours @$80hr

003 WARP and WEAVE

After you have completed 002, you are ready for the next level.
WEEK 1 (2 hrs) Study samples to plan your warp for weaving
WEEK 2 Day 1(4hrs) Warp the loom. Day 2(4hrs)Weave your piece
WEEK 3 (2 hrs) Learn about different finishing: blocking, hand sewing, tassels, fringes.

Fees: $1,200 (total 12 hrs), Additional hours @$80hr

004 WEAVE on PRI NTED WARP

Printed warp is simple way to achieve pattern on a woven cloth.
We have stencils and you can choose from to make your own pattern on the warp threads. Then practice the same creative weaving methods to create a unique piece.

Fees: Minimum $450 (4 hrs), Additional hours @$80hr (For weavers who has experienced 001 or 002)

005 WEAVE your PATTERNED CLOTH

How is a patterned cloth created on a loom?? Various methods like tapestry, printed warp, supplementary weft will be introduced. Participants will have the opportunity to try the techniques on the loom.

Fees: Minimum $450 (4 hrs), Additional hours @$80hr (For weavers who has experienced 001 or 002)

006 WEAVE your OWN BAG

Weave your own unique material for a bag. Take clues from samples we have: tote bag, ethnic shoulder bag, the bias bag, telephone bag, or your own idea.

Fees: Minimum $450 (4 hrs), Additional hours @$80hr (For weavers who has experienced 001 or 002)

007 WEAVING WHENEVER, WHEREEVER

For those who are unable to find time to come to the gallery to weave, or the weave addicts who need constant dosage, we offer a small table loom. Though not as efficient as the SAORI looms, it is a good tool to explore patterns and ideas at your own time and pace.
We offer a 2-hour workshop to teach you how to use the loom, and the loom is yours to keep.
You can come in to wind your shuttles with our yarn when you need new material ($80/500gm). An extra one time (30 minutes) follow up consultancy is included to ensure you weave with confidence.(within one month)
